【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesameansofevaluatingacousticemissionsgeneratedbytherapidreleaseofenergyfromlocalizedsourceswithinanAPDundercontrolledloading.Theresultantenergyreleasesoccurduringintentionalapplicationofacontrolledpredeterminedload.Theseenergyreleasescanbemonitoredandinterpretedbyqualifiedindividuals.Thistestmethodpermitstestingofthemajorcomponentsofanaerialdeviceundercontrolledloading.Thistestmethodutilizesobjectivecriteriaforevaluationandmaybediscontinuedatanytimetoinvestigateaparticularareaofconcernorpreventafaultfromcontinuingtoultimatefailure.Thistestmethodprovidesameansofdetectingacousticemissionsthatmaybedefectsorirregularities,orboth,affectingthestructuralintegrityorintendeduseoftheaerialdevice.Sourcesofacousticemissionfoundwiththistestmethodshallbeevaluatedbyeithermorerefinedacousticemissiontestmethodsorothernondestructivetechniques(visual,liquidpenetrant,radiography,ultrasonics,magneticparticle,etc.).OthernondestructivetestsmayberequiredtolocatedefectspresentinAPDs.Defectiveareasfoundinaerialdevicesbythistestmethodshouldberepairedandretestedasappropriate.Repairprocedurerecommendationsareoutsidethescopeofthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforacousticemission(AE)testingofaerialpersonneldevices(APDs)withsupplementalloadhandlingattachments.1.1.1EquipmentCovered8212;Thistestmethodcoversthefollowingtypesofvehicle-mountedaerialpersonneldeviceswithsupplementalloadhandlingattachments:1.1.1.1Extensible-boomAPDs,1.1.1.2Articulating-boomAPDs,and1.1.1.3Anycombinationof1.1.1.1and1.1.1.2.1.1.2EquipmentNotCovered8212;Thistestmethoddoesnotcoveranyofthefollowingequipment:1.1.2.1Insulatedaerialpersonneldeviceswithoutsupplementalloadhandlingattachments,Digger-derrickswithplatform,1.1.2.3Craneswithplatform,and1.1.2.4Aerialdeviceswithload-liftingcapabilitieslocatedanywhereotherthanadjacenttotheplatform.Note18212;Thistestmethodisnotintendedtobeastand-aloneNDTmethodfortheverificationofthestructuralintegrityofanaerialdevice.OtherNDTmethodsshouldbeusedtosupplementtheresults.1.2TheAEtestmethodisusedtodetectandarea-locateemissionsources.Verificationofemissionsourcesmayrequiretheuseofothernondestructivetest(NDT)methods,suchasradiography,ultrasonics,magneticparticle,liquidpenetrant,andvisualinspection.(Warning8212;Thistestmethodrequiresthatexternalloadsbeappliedtothesuperstructureofthevehicleundertest.Duringthetest,cautionmustbetakentosafeguardpersonnelandequipmentagainstunexpectedfailureorinstabilityofthevehicleorcomponents.)1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
