【摘要】:Materialshandlingequipmentoperabilityandlong-termintegrityareconcernsthatoriginateduringthedesignandfabricationsequences.Suchconcernsaremostefficientlyaddressedduringoneortheotherofthesestages.Equipmentoperabilityandintegritycanbecompromisedduringhandlingandinstallationsequences.Forthisreason,thesubjectequipmentshouldbehandledandinstalledundercloselycontrolledandsupervisedconditions.Thisguideisintendedasasupplementtootherstandards(Section2,ReferencedDocuments),andtofederalandstateregulations,codes,andcriteriaapplicabletothedesignofequipmentintendedforthisuse.Thisguideisintendedtobegenericandtoapplytoawiderangeoftypesandconfigurationsofmaterialshandlingequipment.Thetermmaterialshandlingequipmentisusedhereininagenericsense.Itincludesmanipulators,cranes,cartsorbogies,andspecialequipmentforhandlingtoolsandmaterialinhotcells.Thisserviceimposesstringentrequirementsonthequalityandtheintegrityoftheequipment,asfollows:Bootsandsimilarprotectivecoversshouldnotrestrictmovementoftheequipment,shouldbeproperlysealedtotheequipmentandshouldwithstandtheradiation,cellatmosphere,dust,celltemperatures,chemicalexposures,andcleaninganddecontaminationreagents,andalsoresistsnagsandtearing.Materialshandlingequipmentshouldbecapableofwithstandingrigorouschemicalcleaninganddecontaminationprocedures.Materialshandlingequipmentshouldbedesignedandfabricatedtoremaindimensionallystablethroughoutitslifecycle.Attentiontofabricationtolerancesisnecessarytoallowtheproperfit-upbetweencomponentsfortheproperinstallationandmountingofmaterialshandlingequipmentinhotcells,forexample,whenpartsorcomponentsarebeingreplaced.Fabricationtolerancesshouldbecontrolledtoprovidesufficientlyloosefitswherepossibletoaidinremotemaintenanceandreplacementofequipmentandcomponents.Fabricationmaterialsshouldberesistanttoradiationdamage,ormaterialssubjecttosuchdamageshouldbeshieldedorplacedandattachedsoastobereadilyreplaceable.Smoothsurfacefinishesarenecessaryfordecontaminationreasons.Irregularitiesthathideandretainradioactiveparticulatesorotheradherentcontaminationshouldbeeliminatedorminimized.Materialshandlingequipmentthatisexposedtohightemperatures,pressures,acidicorcausticconditionsmayrequirespecialdesignconsiderationstobecompatiblewiththeoperatingenvironment.Potentialratesofchangefortemperatureandpressureaswellasabsolutetemperatureandpressureextremes,createdbyactivationoffiresuppressionsystemsandotheremergencysystems,shouldbeconsidered.Whenreplacing,modifyingoraddingadditionalmaterialshandlingequipmenttoanexistinghotcell,maintenancerecordsofmaterialshandlingequipmentinthathotcellorinahotcellhavingasimilarprocessingmissionmaybeavailableforreference.Theserecordsmayoffervaluableinsightwithregardtothecauses,frequency,andtypeoffailureexperiencedforthetypeandclassofequipmentbeingdesignedandengineered,sothatimprovementscanbemadeinthenewequipment.Preventivemaintenancebasedonpreviousexperienceinsimilarenvironmentsandsimilardutyshouldbeperformedtopreventunscheduledrepairoffailedcomponents.1.1Intent:1.1.1Thisguidecoversmaterialshandlingequipmentusedinhotcells(shieldedcells)fortheprocessingandhandlingofnuclearandradioactivematerials.Theintentofthisguideistoaidintheselectionanddesignofmaterialshandlingequipmentforhotcellsinordertominimizeequ......
